Shelterbelt

Our protection and comfort often comes from familiarity. What we know keeps us sheltered from uncertainty and displacement. A typical shelterbelt is a linear row of trees that keeps harsh weather from creating damage to large open lands, highways, and even rural homes. The shelterbelt in this painting is a rural representation of what familiarities comfort and protect many prairie lifestyles.

High Five

What would a typical farmyard look like from a bird's eye view? Many wouldn't think it would be very interesting but if you've ever been on an airplane or hot air balloon, your everyday places become new and interesting again. "Hive Five" is one of my latest acrylic on canvas paintings showing a clean and clear radial perspective of typical items on a farmyard.
